Fish Fry Schedule
Shift Sign-up and Responsibilities:
• Sign up for any two shifts of your choice by September 30th of each year. After that, open shifts may be assigned.
•. You must work your entire shift, until all the jobs are done or you are
dismissed by the supervising adult(s).
• If you are unable to work, you must find your replacement worker and
inform the adult who is supervising that shift. In advance.
• You or your parents will receive either a reminder note/announcement at a prior Troop meeting, or a phone call or e-mail regarding your shift. Include your phone number and an e-mail address when you sign up for your shifts.
• Please sign-up for the nights that are open not full. You can tell the difference by looking at how many bullets are filled (for scouts) and how many blanks are open at the bottom of the date (for adults).

About the Masonic Fish Fry
What we expect:
• Each Scout will work two Fish Fries per season, Oct. – May.
• Each Fish Fry requires six working Boy Scouts.
• Two Adult/Troop parents will volunteer to supervise each Fish Fry
We expect you to behave as Boy Scouts and honor your commitments, behave in an appropriate manner and give your best effort to completing the work on your shift.
Why we work the "Fry":
The Masonic Fish Fry is our main service project where Troop 70 Scouts can complete required “Community Service” hours. In return for our providing the “cleanup” for their monthly fish fries, the Wacousta-DeWitt Masonic Lodge allows us to use their facility and provides the food we sell for our major Troop fund-raiser, the Spaghetti Supper, which in turn
funds our other activities.
When we work the "Fry":
The Fish Fries are the second Friday of each month, Oct. thru May. Fish is served from 4 to 7 PM Clean-up begins between 7-7:30 PM until the
work is done, 9- 9:30 PM (Hours vary with the attendance.) Boy Scouts working the Fry may eat a free fish dinner before their shift, from 6 to 6:30 PM.. If you do not plan to eat a fish dinner, arrive between 7-7:30 PM.. to work. Some nights are busy and we can’t get started until later. Bring a book.
What to wear:
Both Boy Scouts and Adult Volunteers wear the Class B uniform to work—in an emergency, a solid red shirt will do. Everything you wear will smell like fried fish, so wear washable clothes and plan to wash or air out coats and take a shower afterwards. Really.
