Troop 111 has invited members of Troop 70 to be part of the Mackinac Island Honor Guard for the Governor of Michigan.
The duties consist of several service activities, including raising and lowering flags, and at least one for the Mackinac Island State Park Commission. You must be able to walk long distances and stand for several hours. Training sessions will be scheduled between now and the departure date. An application must be completed by the scout, along with the parent's permission slip, and the scoutmaster's recommendation.
The cost is $200, which includes lodging, meals, and transportation to and from the island. It does not include spending money for souvenirs or other items bought on the island. Also, first timers need to buy a Troop packet for $35 which includes neckerchief, name tag, troop numbers, and a barret. Contact Mr. DeYoung from Troop 70 or Mr. Marlin from Troop 111 for more details.
