Regular meetings are held on Tuesday nights at the Wacousta United Methodist Church from 7 to 8:30 PM, unless otherwise noted.

The first Tuesday is the general troop meeting - Class A uniforms should be worn.

The 2nd Tuesday is a general troop meeting - the red troop 70 t-shirt should be worn.

The 3rd Tuesday is the troop activity night - the red Troop 70 t-shirt can be worn, depending on the activity.

The 4th Tuesday is the Patrol Leader meeting.  Only Patrol Leaders need to attend.

The 4th Wednesday is the committee meeting.  It is open to all parents.  This meeting is where the committee plans upcoming events, activities, etc.
January
11-13   Winter Cabin Camping at Camp Kiwanis.  $10 to reserve a spot.
20Skiing at Cannonsburg Ski area.  We will meet at the township
  office at 4 PM, and we will return at about 10:30 that night.  Cost is
$15 for ski rental AND lift ticket.  Snowboard rental is extra.
29Activity night - rollerskating/laser tag at Edru Skating Rink, South              Cedar Street in Holt, at 6:30 -8:30 PM.  Cost is $4 to skate and
  includes rental skates.  $2 extra for laser tag, $2 extra to rent inline           skates.  Meet at the rink.

February
10Scout Sunday - activity at Wacousta United Methodist Church.
  Check back here soon for details.
16Snowshoeing near the Pigeon River, if there's enough snow.  Watch
   the main page for details to see if the trip is on or cancelled.
19Planning meeting for all the Spaghetti Dinner chair people at the
   Masonic Lodge in Wacousta at 7:15.  That is an activity night for the
   boys so should work out ok.   We can go through the facility and see
   what we need.  Please tell Allen or Susan Deming if you cannot
   attend.
21Blue & Gold Banquet
Pack 260 details:
Time:  6:30 - 8 PM
Place: Wacousta Elementary gym
Theme:  Proud to be an American
Food: Turkey and pot luck - salad, potato dishes, rolls, pop,
  cake.
21"God and Church" program - for Protestant and Independent Christian
   churches, with Pastor David Kilde.  Boys from grades 6, 7, & 8 are
   invited.  To be held at Calvary Lutheran Church, W. St Joseph near
   Creyts Rd.  First meeting is at 7:30 February 21.  Contact
  Jim Gartung (321-2080) for more details.
26Court of Honor - CANCELLED - rescheduled to April 9.

March
2: Rock & Wall climb at Higher Ground in Grand Rapids.
          This event has been moved to Saturday, April 20.  Times and
  places are still the same.

   Be sure to wear sweat pants or long shorts. It is difficult to
   climb in jeans.
    Meet at the McDonalds at the Wright Rd exit.  Be ready to leave at
  10:30 AM.  Bring money to pay for this outing with you if you have
  not prepaid.  Climbing starts at noon.  Bring a sack lunch, and we'll
   eat just before going inside to climb.  We will probably climb until 3
   or 3:30 PM, and there is no place to eat inside Higher Ground.  We
   will be back at McDonald's about 4:30 PM.
19, 21, 26, 28:  Hunter Safety classes - Contact Mark Nida (626-6287) to
   sign up.
23:Spaghetti dinner - moved from March 16, to the Wacousta Masonic
   Temple at Wacousta and Herbison Rd, due to a band festival and the
   Wacousta Cub Scout Pinewood Derby.  The building is handicap
   accessable.  Please sign up to help.

April

Chief Okemos Council is offering a new Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills Training course.

When: Tuesday, April 9 & 16, 2002, 6pm
Weekend of April 26-28, 2002 begins 5pm

What will you learn?  Patrol Method, Hiking & Packing, Woods Tools, Running Games, Map & Compass, Proper Flag Etiquette, Campfire Planning, Backpacking Stoves, Dutch Oven Cooking, Animal & Plant Identification, Leave No Trace, Ropes, First Aid, Utensilless Cooking, Worship Services.

Cost:$40

Includes all the food, handouts, a walking stave, a completion certificate, lots of fun and many new friends.

8:   Young Eagles Program - a chance for youth from 8 to 17 to fly for
free with a licenced pilot at Mason's Jewett Airport, 9:30 AM to 5
PM.  See the EAA webpage for details about this program.
14-16:    Practice hike for Pictured Rocks.  Jerri Lynn Osmar will coordinate
     this.

22:Michigan Adventure theme park trip
Cost is $19 per person if we get a group of 25 or more.  Food is
extra.  Contact Tom Briggs at 627-5844 or via e-mail.  Park hours
are 11-9 for rides, noon-7 PM for the waterpark.
27-8/3   Pictured Rocks backpacking - cancelled due to lack of enough
   participating adults.

August
6:No meeting at the church
7-9:     Au Sable River canoe trip.  Mark Nida will coordinate.
13:Patrol meeting at the church - class B uniform
20:Activity night - finish orienteering work for rank advancement at
  Heritage Park at 7 PM.
27:Patrol leader's meeting at the church - parents are welcome.
28:      Leave for DALMAC - Bike Tour from East Lansing to Mackinac
  Bridge.  Information sheets available at Troop Meetings or see Kim
  Ramm or Dan DiPietro.

September
1 :       Return from DALMAC
3:Court of Honor 5:30 to 8 PM at Heritage Park.  End of summer potluck dinner - bring a dish to pass to feed at least 8 people, your own lawn chairs, and your own table service.  The troop will provide hot dogs and buns. Class A uniforms should be worn.
8:SIDS Walk service work opportunity at MSU
17:Activity night at the corn field maze at 6275 Clark Rd, at the corner of Clark & Lowell Rds.
21-22:  Hart-Montague Trail bike trip

October
